Quote1 On 11/2, the Soviet Union was on the verge of annihilating us, and we were more than prepared to return the favor. Then that enormous, tentacled abomination teleported into New York. If it hadn't arrived when it did, we would all be ash. Does it ever end? Of course it does. Because we are all in a tunnel and every tunnel ends. It ends with light. Quote2
Wade Tillman src

Looking Glass (real name Detective Wade Tillman) is a paranoid, introverted police officer who specializes in interrogation for the Tulsa Police Department. He was traumatized for life during the 11/2 Psychic Shockwave in 1985, and was an instrumental player in the investigation of the Cyclops conspiracy in 2019.

While the paranoia and anxiety caused by the squid attack stayed throughout his life, Tillman became much more aggressive and determined when he learned it had been all a massive hoax.

Abilities

Other Characteristics

  • Extra-Dimensional Anxiety: Wade experiences a form of PTSD from his trauma of being so close to the inter-dimensional squid invasion in New York City. He regularly attends group meetings to deal with his stress and constantly wears reflective material in the event of another psychic attack.

Equipment

  • Reflectatine Mask
  • Interrogation Chamber

  • Throughout Light Fear of Lightning, the fifth episode of Watchmen and the first to really focus on Wade as a character, three different versions of the song Careless Whisper play in the background at separate points in the episode. Thematically this represents that Wade still hasn't recovered from the trauma he experienced in the 11/2 massacre thirty-four years prior.[2]
