The Wall of Weird was a collection of newspaper clippings made by Chloe Sullivan.

History

After moving to Smallville in eighth grade, Chloe Sullivan began noticing all the strange things occurring in town. She began a scrap book, that mutated, until Chloe had a wall full of it.[1]

Calling it the "Wall of Weird", Chloe put it up on the wall of the school newspaper. The Wall of Weird was regularly filled with stories relating to the meteor infected (local people, who had gained metahuman abilities, from exposure to Green Kryptonite).[2] Eventually, Chloe updated the Wall of Weird to a database, which she filled with files on confirmed and suspected meteor freaks, who she kept under surveillance (regardless if they were guilty of a crime).[3]

In 2003, Van McNutly hacked the Wall of Weird, to identify meteor freaks and murder them.[3] Despite this incident, Chloe continued working on the Wall of Weird, until she discovered that Clark Kent had superhuman abilities and decided to take it down. Between learning about Clark (who she believed to be meteor infected) and the death of Alicia Baker, Chloe had realized that her activities spurred bigotry against the meteor infected.[4]

Despite this decision, Chloe created a new Wall of Weird, during her freshman year at Metropolis University and kept her database on meteor freaks.[5][6]

Notes

  • The Wall of Weird used to be exclusive to the continuity of the Smallville television series. However, it was mentioned in the Supergirl TV series.[7]
