Walt Simonson (b. September 2, 1946) is a writer.
Professional History
Walt Simonson is an American comic book artist. He began his career in 1973, working for DC Comics in the title Weird War Tales. Later he began working in titles as Star Spangled War Stories, Sword of Sorcery, Weird Worlds, Detective Comics, G.I. Combat and many more.
Years later he was hired by Marvel Comics, and he created the most iconic representation of the character Thor.
Most recently he has been working for DC, Marvel, IDW and Dark Horse Comics.
Personal History
Simonson was born September 2, 1946 in Knoxville, Tennessee. He studied geology at Amherst College and after graduating he enrolled as an art major at the Rhode Island School of Design, graduating in 1972. He is married to comics writer Louise Simonson.
