Shriek was an enemy of Batman in the years before the invasion of Brother Eye.

History

During Brother Eye's attacks, he was freed from prison and, finding people in the city's subways trying to get into seek refuge from the hellish world that the Eye had created, he decided to use his suit's equipment to make himself the protector of the refugees, making a home for them and himself in the tunnels.
