The Warzoons engaged in battle

In past centuries there lived a militant, domination-founded race of beings whom cut a bloody swath across half the known universe, colloquially named the Warzoons. Their society was built on the precipice of conflict and incursion; war was the very air they breathed, having lived only to spend their days conducting never ending battle. In the eyes of The Warzoon, conquest meant everything to them from birth till death.[1] Their all-consuming obsession would inevitably lead to their greatest triumph and their ultimate downfall as a civilization, if not as a thriving species.

In order to facilitate their desire for total intergalactic domination, the Warzoon corroborated to fashion the most devastating weapon existence had ever seen; an planet sized satellite nearly twice the size of a white dwarf star, pushed throughout space via monstrous siege engines as big as continental masses and armed with long range offensive batteries many miles high, to which even earthborn skyscrapers pale in comparison, this monstrosity would come to be called the Warworld.

To the Warzoon's ultimate detriment and regret, the would-be rulers of the cosmos never got to implement their greatest achievement in pursuit of its design goal. As they all died off from anuretic brain hemorrhaging due to the monumental psychological strain of utilizing their superweapons control matrix. A device used to telepathically conveyed the vessel captain's commands to all its facilities. Each member to step up and commandeer the mighty one barge fleet dying off one by one with each successor whom attempted to assume control of such a behemoth.[2]

Knowledge of which did not reach the ears of the wider universe of course. Said flagship's first and only people to come upon the Warworld since the Warzoons' passing merely discovered the last of their race deceased in the directory throne upon arrival. The rest of which having mysteriously become extinct without further investigation. The mortal remains of said civilization were given a proper burial, whilst their diabolical Weapon of Ultimate Destruction; lay dormant with its defenses primed to keep any would be interlopers at bay.

Post-Rebirth

Prime Earth

After its creation, in time, life would arise on the artificial planetoid's surface; amongst those species were the Warzoons, a savage race of hunters and scavengers who scrounged a meager living on its surface. Though each of the Warzoons paid tribute to the Great Worms, each only served themself. One evening, an alien ship impacted on Warworld Prime. One Warzoon, Guldejo, was unafraid, and sought out the ship that had come to this savage world. He found a great fissure, and descended into it, discovering the ancient Necropolis below its surface. Within the Necropolis, he found the ship's inhabitant, an advanced being he perceived as godlike wearing armor with a yellow gem in its chestplate. The being looked on Guldejo with disgust, and in turn, Guldjeo murdered the alien. Guldejo tore the armor from the being's chest, taking it for his own, finding that it increased his strength and his lust for conquest. He took the name Mongul, which meant Strongest in the Warzoon tongue. He would rule for the rest of his days, unchallenged as ruler by his kin until he was one day slain by his own son, who took the name Mongul for himself.[3]

Mongul I began a millennia-long cycle, one that would be repeated by his descendants; their Warzoons would locate a resource-rich planet, wipe out all resistance, and enslave the survivors. They would strip those planets bare, using their resources to fuel its forges and their populations as a vast slave class; they would then find a new world, and begin again.

The Warzoons were ruled for many years by Mongul MDCCXCI until he was slayed by his son, Mongul MDCCXCII.[4]

Many Warzoons also opposed Superman (Clark Kent) when he arrived on Warworld to free the planet from Mongul's tyrannical rule.
