- I was wrong about you, Batman. Didn't think you'd have the stomach for all this. See there? You're fittin' in just fine.
- — Killer Croc src
Imprisoned at Blackgate Penitentiary, Killer Croc had full control over the prison's organised crime.
History
Batman turned himself over to the police in order to get inside Blackgate for the purpose of obtaining highly valuable stolen data from a prisoner called the Key. Upon learning of Batman and the Key, Killer Croc ordered the prisoners to start a riot so that he could capture and exploit the Key, and kill Batman. During the riot, Croc challenged Batman to a one-on-one fight, with the prisoners acting as an audience. Although Killer Croc initially had the upper hand, he was eventually over-powered and severely beaten by Batman. After the fight, the authorities regained control over Blackgate but Batman, the Key and Killer Croc all had managed to escape.[1]
Killer Croc later resurfaced leading a gang as he battled Batman and Katana in a subway. As part of a pre-concieved plan, Croc trapped Batman and Katana, cementing them in the middle of a train track. With the help of Alfred Pennyworth and the Oracle, Batman and Katana escaped before they could be run over by a train. Batman and Katana found and continued fighting Killer Croc in the subway when they barely managed to knock him unconscious.[2]
