Supposedly murdered twenty-seven children. He hasn't shown any violent tendencies since then, so I wouldn't fret. I also wouldn't invite the school choir to the castle while he's here.
The Weasel is an animalistic humanoid creature whose origins are a mystery. He was incarcerated in Belle Reve after he was wrongly accused of murdering eight children, and was later utilized by A.R.G.U.S. for covert ops missions as part of the Suicide Squad and the Creature Commandos.
History
Early life and capture
Trying to save the children
It is unknown where the Weasel came from, or even exactly what he is, though some have speculated him to be a werewolf.[3] He roamed free as a scavenger in the United States for years, until one day when he befriended some children at Sunnyhill School. They played together until a nearby adult called the local police out of fear he would kill the kids. The ensuing struggle ended in a massive fire that burned down the school. While Weasel desperately tried to save his new friends, he was separated from the children by the police, and all eight were killed in the fire.[1]
Weasel was arrested and charged with the children's murders, and was detained in the Belle Reve Correctional Center in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana.[4] In defense of Weasel's wrongful arrest, attorney Elizabeth Bates of the Freedom Project decided to represent him in court and prove his innocence, giving him the pseudonym "John Doe."[1] Though he showed no violent tendencies in prison after he was apprehended,[4] A.R.G.U.S. director Amanda Waller saw him as useful and drafted him into the Suicide Squad through her Task Force X program, through which he could complete black ops missions in exchange for a shorter prison sentence.[3]
Project Starfish
In 2022,[note 1] Weasel was sent with the Suicide Squad on a mission to Corto Maltese to destroy evidence of the U.S. government's involvement in Project Starfish. Although he presumed to be dead, he survived the mission.[4]
Protecting Ilana Rostovic
Joining the Creature Commandos
In 2024, after the Task Force X program had been shut down by Congress, Waller put together a new team called the Creature Commandos, comprised entirely of non-human operatives to circumvent Congress's restrictions. Weasel was drafted onto this new team, led by General Rick Flag Sr., and was led to the European nation of Pokolistan on a mission to protect Princess Ilana Rostovic from the Amazon sorceress Circe and her army of incel terrorists.
During his time at Poko Castle[4], Weasel formed a friendship with Ilana, whom he mistook for his deceased friend that he was unable to save due to their similar appearance.[5] At night, the team was confronted by a wounded Flag Sr., who had previously battled Doctor Phosphorus, the sadistic and radioactive team member who attempted to take the nanobomb detonator. However, the team had to leave the castle to rescue their two teammates, Bride and Nina Mazursky, who were under attack by Circe in Frankenstein Manor.[2]
Weasel defeats Circe
Upon arriving at the manor, the Creature Commandos found Bride and Nina tied up, leading them to deduce that the attack was a trap to leave the castle unprotected, so they quickly returned to the castle and battled Circe's army. In the midst of the battle, one of the team members, G.I. Robot, was destroyed by Circe, who overwhelmed the team with her powers and prepared to kill Ilana, but Weasel was able to aggressively defeat her to save the princess with the help of Phosphorus, stopping her invasion of Pokolistan.[6]
With the mission completed, the team returned to Belle Reve to relocate the team members before Weasel met with Elizabeth to try to prove his innocence using the images of the eight deceased children, although due to his trauma, he refrained from facing his past. Later, Waller sent the Creature Commandos, now under Bride's leadership, back to Pokolistan to assassinate Rostovic and prevent Circe's apocalyptic vision from coming to pass.[1]
Under the guise of a new threat to Pokolistan, the team was transported to the castle, but before arriving, they were ambushed by the Amethyst Knights and the Pokolistani army, who began a hunt for the team to prevent them from assassinating the princess.[7] During the search, Weasel fled into the forest, where he befriended a pack of wolves and, despite his desire to stay with them, decided to return to the mission after dreaming about Ilana.[5]
Hailed as a hero
Regrouping after the hunt[5], the Creature Commandos infiltrated the castle to assassinate Ilana, with Bride ordering Nina to wade into the lake and stab her as she swam. However, Weasel grew extremely concerned for Ilana, leading him to dive into the sea to warn her of the ambush, causing him to be reprimanded by Phosphorus and Nina to be killed before Waller aborted the mission after discovering Circe's deception. While being cheered on by the Knights, Weasel retreated from Pokolistan with his teammates after Bride completed the mission by assassinating Ilana after uncovering her sinister plot. Due to the success of the mission, Waller thanked the team, rewarding them with an upgrade to the non-human inmate division and founding a new lineup of Creature Commandos for future special operations.[8]

- ↑ In the DCU, the Project Starfish mission is said to have occurred two years prior to the events of Creature Commandos season 1, which are confirmed to have only occurred months before the events of Superman. Given that Superman is confirmed to take place in 2025 via viral marketing, that places the events of The Suicide Squad in 2022 and the events of Creature Commandos in 2024 in the DCU timeline.
