Synopsis for "Reef of No Return"
This story is reprinted from Our Fighting Forces #43.
A U.S. Navy frog-man laments that his comrades never return from the reef to which they are sent, and recounts his own adventure with the reef. He commits to a different approach, dropping a dummy parachute on the reef before parachuting onto an enemy island to approach from the other side. On the island, he finds his dummy hanging from a tree. He removes his frog suit and hides it, but quickly finds it on display as well. Abandoning his alternate approach, he runs a direct route to the reef, and falls under fire. After retrieving TNT charges from his gear, he dives into the water and is caught in an enemy net. Enemy frogmen attack him, but he manages to escape their grasp. He attaches the TNT to the reef and quickly swims away before the charges destroy the reef.
