Quote1 Whether or not you believe me, Kevin, think of where the world was headed before the Armageddon. Then think of what you've seen here. The love. The courage. The unity among us all. Imagine that the world over. And ask yourself, in the long run, which is the greater good. Quote2

Welcome to Tranquility: Armageddon #1 is an issue of the series Wildstorm: Armageddon (Volume 1) with a cover date of January, 2008.

Synopsis for "A Quiet Little Town"

After a night with a couple of lady friends, Maximum Man sets out to enjoy a lovely morning. He runs into Sheriff Lindo who warns him to cut back on his sexual exploits because it's making it hard to keep the peace with him sleeping around with every married woman in town. Afterward, Void appears and tells Maximum Man that she needs him to help change the future. He boasts that traveling to the future is nothing new for him and gladly joins her.

They arrive at a Tranquility that looks exactly the same except that the areas surrounding the town are in total disarray. He encounters a team called the Supreme Soviets who threaten to destroy Tranquility. The other heroes of the town join in the fight and quickly dispense of the threat. After confirming that Maximum Man came from the present as the future Maximum Man is hospitalized for weariness, Sheriff Lindo tells Maximum Man of a huge battle between superhumans that resulted in all the chaos. Salabal used her magic to place a protective spell around Tranquility and that is how it survived Armageddon.

Surviving superhumans began making sieges against the town in order to gain control of it. The heroes of the town held off assault after assault, in which they simply have the beaten superhumans mind-wiped and teleported miles away from the town, but were becoming weakened by the constant bombardment; fortunately the town is reinforced by superheroes that had disappeared during World War Two right after they appear during and after the Armageddon. But, they couldn't remember what happened to them during their disappearance. Though it can't be stated only for the lost heroes as villains missing from sixty years too raid Tranquility. With Maximum Man's presence, he helps fend off an attack from his old nemesis Black Panzer and his Nazi followers. After Maximum and his friends defeat Black Panzer and his followers, Acolyte informs Maximum that during Armageddon many people from around the world were apparently rapture away which she believes it to be God's bidding. Sheriff Lindo then informs everyone that Salabal prepares to cast a spell that will teleport the entire town to a safer place. But before Maximum Man can get all his questions answered, Void returns and sends him back to his own time as Salabal's spell would permanently strand Maximum Man in the future. Once back, Maximum Man reverts back to his elderly state and cannot remember anything about his trip to the future, explaining why none of the residents of Tranquility in the future were never earlier warned about Armageddon.
