Sandman was a member of the Justice Society of America.

History

Wesley Dodds was a businessman with a double life. In his youth, Dodds became a costumed vigilante under the alias "Sandman" and joined the Justice Society of America. His activities as Sandman ended, when the government agency Checkmate framed him and the other JSA:ers for crimes and had them arrested. Like the other members, Dodds tried to protect the others and take the fall for them. In the end, the charges against Dodds didn't hold up and he was released. In 2010, Dodds was murdered by Cameron Mahkent.
