Synopsis for Captain Marvel: "Captain Marvel battles the Marine Invasion!"

Out at sea, a freighter is carrying a fortune of gold buillion and uncut diamonds when they are stopped the sudden appearance of a sperm whale. They try to turn to avoid it, but are balked by a second sperm whale in their path, soon finding themselves surrounded by them. Emerging from a single-man submarine appears a man wearing a green toga, carrying a trident and wearing a tiny crown, who says that he is Neptune, King of the Seas, and that he’s boarding their ship, demanding “tribute.” When one of the sailors says he’s just lying about it, “Neptune” orders an octopus to grab four of them, finally prompting their radio-man to send a distress signal out that Billy picks up at a Station WHIZ listening post. Calling SHAZAM, Captain Marvel soon flies out to meet them and punches the enlarged cephalod in the face and whips it into the sea by one tentacle, worrying this “Neptune” who retreats to his submarine. Once at his craft, Captain Marvel pulls him out and says that he’s not actually “King Neptune,” but Jasper Joad, a “man-without-a-country” due to his constant criminal and treasonous activities. Thus, being de facto exiled to the sea, he decided to get revenge and discovered a way to use mental waves to make ocean creatures obey him, which he then uses to make one of his sperm whales ram the ship to distract Captain Marvel and let him escape. The World’s Mightiest Mortal easily shoves the whale away until he’s gone and decides that he’s going to track down Joad.

Later, Joad appears at a beach where he starts using large green giant lobsters to invade a small island, only for Captain Marvel to arrive and trap them all in a large fishing net and delivers them all to a lobster cannery, finding Joad has escaped by tearing the net himself. Joad plans on an all-out invasion and moves to the harbor of “a big city” and unleashes his army of a very large turtle, an eel, an octopus and a walrus. Captain Marvel easily spots a large queue of sea creatures exiting the harbor, stopping the giant turtle from blocking traffic abd then saving an elderly man being bounced between two seals like a beachball by throwing them into the sewer and expecting them to get back to the ocean that way before he finally defeats the walrus by shoving a barrel over his head. Soon after, he finds Joad riding on a different giant turtle and goes to attack him, only for Joad to summon a Sea Serpent which the World’s Mightiest Mortal ties in to a knot. Grabbing Joad, Captain Marvel demands he has the sea creatures leave the city and, when he feels like likely won’t do it, pushes an electric eel at both sides of his head to give him a makeshift electro-shock therapy that negates his mental command of sea animals by “disrupting his mental-waves” as shown when a lobster pinches his shin. Captain Marvel sees him quickly to prison, saying he won’t be King Neptune or a “man-without-a-country,” but a number!

Golden Arrow is suspicious, since he knows Mason is of poor moral character and takes off on White Wind to find him. On the way out to check on him, Mason drops from a tree above and pistol-whips him off his horse, then dumps him over White Wind to ride back to his camp. Once there, he explains he intends to dynamite the whole ravine to kill Steve and Golden Arrow so he can get all the gold for himself, then kicks him into the ravine where Steve is already. They make a mad dash to get out, but Steve falls and sprains an ankle, but Golden Arrow refuses to leave him behind, instead his tent-cloth and many well-placed arrows to hold the weight just long enough for them to escape. Mason, watching from above, goes to throw a stick of lit dynamite at them, but once it's far enough away from him, Golden Arrow shoots it, making it explode and send Mason tumbling into the ravine too, where Golden Arrow punches him over and then beats him in a quick fistfight. At the Sheriff's Office, Steve notes that Mason is legally entitled to half the mine, but only after he gets out jail!

Synopsis for Lance O'Casey: "Lance O'Casey and The Photo of Death"

The President of Ikestan, Anton Riswold, is in the South Pacific on a diplomatic goodwill tour with his assistant, Mentga, and mentions how these islands are the source of Ikestan's supply of "syntronium," which is why he's there. The local leader shows off his cavalry of gunmen, but one of them nearly fires past the President's face, which he politely says was likely an accident. Later, he confides to Mentga that that was certainly no accident and Mentga offers they just go home, but the President is wary on doing so due to their economic connections there. Thus, he decides to go to the one man he knows who knows the South Seas himself: Lance O'Casey, who is staying at nearby Manigona Island. There, Lance and Mike are scrubbing the deck when they get a letter from the President to come help him. They soon set sail, Mike picks up some snacks and they head to the President's hotel room, led by Mentga... only to find that he's led them into a trap and releases goons to attack them. They start to fight through the donnybrook, only for Mentga and another goon to manage to knock them out. Mentga reveals he intends to use a trick camera that fires a silent bullet to kill the President when he takes his picture, wherein he'll seize control in a military coup, attack the islands and steal all their syntronium. Meanwhile, Lance lets him talk so he can cut his bonds on a broken lamp while Mentga orders his men to head out to carry it all out while he goes to take a final picture of Lance O'Casey. He suddenly whips to the side now that his hands are free and dodges the shot, then rolls into Mentga's legs, sweeping him so he can free Mike. Mentga pulls a gun on him, but Lance tackles him to the ground, making him drop it before he goes for a knife, flipping Lance on to a table, dizzying him. Mike, having freed himself in the interim, but Mentga flips him over his back. Lance takes his opportunity to punch him out and locks him in a closet so they can go quickly save Pres. Riswold.
