Synopsis for Golden Arrow: "Golden Arrow and the Greed for Gold"
Golden Arrow meets a friend, Larry Becker, in town near the Bank and finds out he's discovered an ore vein on his land and he's there to deposit some fresh gold dust! Larry says every time he tries to harvest it, he seems to lose about half as much gold as he should have, so Golden Arrow involves himself to stake out Larry's ranch. Larry says he and his worker, Hood, are the only ones there and he did presume it was Hood, since his gold was in his safe and Hood wouldn't have anywhere he can think to hide it. Golden Arrow sees Hood accepts some arrows from known outlaw "Blackie" Bretton and notes that Hood is something of an archer too. Golden Arrow says that Hood is probably the one doing it and that his arrows seem lighter than normal arrows. The next day, they follow Hood to find he's seemingly just firing arrows into trees over a ravine and reveals that Hood has been stealing the gold and firing it over the ravine in hollow arrows! Hood fires his gun in the air to summon Bretton and Hood admits he knew the safe combination the whole time and holds the two men at gunpoint. The two are led to a cave where Blackie unleashes an ornery catamount to maul them. Golden Arrow manages to kick at the creature and then roll on his stomach, getting it to slash his bonds while Larry distracts it, then shoots it dead. They ride off to intercept them at the Post Office and Golden Arrow dispatches them with a quick fistfight. Later, while the Sheriff takes the two outlaws into custody, Larry thanks Golden Arrow for his help.
