Whiz Comics #20 is an issue of the series Whiz Comics (Volume 1) with a cover date of August, 1941.

Synopsis for Captain Marvel: "Crusher of Crime"

Billy Batson's discovered Sivana's laboratory, but when he tries to listen through the door, Sivana suddenly emerges, now tall and powerful! He grabs Billy and leaves the boy reporter tied up while Sivana leaves to attend to other business, but an organ grinder's monkey climbs up to the window pane. Playing on having once heard that animals can be hypnotized by being looked straight in the eye, Billy compels the monkey to take his gag off. This allows him to transform and jump out the window to hunt down Sivana.

The World's Wickedest Scientist enters a dive where he hears a pair of toughs talking ill of him. He not only easily manhandles them with new incredible strength, he doesn't even flinch when one tries to stab him and shatters the knife in the process. Captain Marvel catches up to Sivana then and knocks him clean through the wall of the bar, but Sivana manages to elude the hero in a crowded street. Marvel flies back to Sivana's lab to await his return while hiding as Billy. It isn't long before Sivana comes back, grabbing the organ grinder from before because human blood is the vital ingredient in his greatest invention. The monkey sets the formula aflame, and an enraged Sivana chases it to find himself face-to-face with Captain Marvel again. The hero grabs Sivana's wrist, and his whole arm comes off; Sivana's new size comes from wearing a mechanical body. Marvel punches him right out of it to land on some power lines.

Synopsis for "Ibis the Invincible"

Trug offers to join forces with Mudge, who isn't interested, since Ibis always defeats him. Mudge does, however, say he'd sell his soul to Satan for the chance at revenge, and Trug summons the Prince of Darkness himself to give Mudge the chance!

After signing away his eternity, Mudge is given a bomb which he lobs as Ibis and Taia are sitting at a cafe. Despite the devastation, the vibrations of his wand had clued Ibis in to an imminent attack and he set up dummies as a decoy. After giving Mudge a donkey's ears for his folly, the wizard leaves him alone. For their next try, Satan disguises Mudge as Ibis, and has him lure Taia into an underground cavern. The real Ibis soon arrives, but refuses to rescind the mark of ignominy he inflicted upon Mudge. Satan crushes Taia, but Ibis had guessed the villains would try again, and the "Taia" they kidnapped was a magical dummy. For the first of several times, Ibis starts beating up the devil with his bare hands. This causes the Ibistick to fall to the ground, but Mudge's attempt to capture its true owner in chains only results in him being bound himself. With both villains rendered helpless, Ibis reveals "Satan" to be merely a disguised Trug.

After sealing the two villains underground, hopefully forever, Ibis and Taia return home to find a letter from the government, asking them to aid in stopping a foreign occult plot.
