Synopsis for Captain Marvel: "The Secret of the Ring"
A bomb lands right on Marvel, who's puzzling over the coded message he just found, but is completely unfazed by the mighty explosion. Fortunately, so is the message, and Marvel and the friendly spy head inside the base and pick up a radio broadcast from the ambassador's daughter. She gave the ring to him, and the message says to hold it up to light to reveal the secret code it contains. This allows Marvel to decode the note he found, telling him to follow even though she seemed to have turned traitor.
Marvel drops off the friendly spy with the American forces who'd just attacked the island, then heads to the Nazis' auxiliary base where he finds the ambassador's daughter along with her two "hostages", who were actually men disguised as Morris and Whitey to get her to come with them in the dark before. She was forced to dress in an enemy uniform and hold off Marvel when they found out the island was about to be bombed. Having discovered the secret in her ring, though, she left the note telling Marvel to come after her. Marvel sends her off to deliver the two lookalikes to military captivity, then meets up with the ambassador and his daughter again as Billy when they sail for home.
A Nazi ship makes to intercept them, but Billy transforms, and Marvel hauls the enemy boat into the ocean depths by tugging its anchor chain. Since the secret code's been compromised, Captain Marvel next invents another one to replace. Billy then announces to the reader they'll be using the old one to send secret messages through the comic, but only members of the Captain Marvel club will be told what it is, and to join today so they don't miss out.

Synopsis for Ibis the Invincible: "Christmas with Half-Man"
The defending army fight back against the invading Nazis. Taia uses the Ibistick to fend off a demon conjured by Half-Man, but she's captured by a German paratrooper. The Ibistick is found by a German officer, who commands its owner and his allied forces be consumed by fire, despite Half-Man's attempts to warn him before it's too late. The invading German forces are burnt to a crisp, but Half-Man manages to escape, collect Taia, and magically transport them back behind their own lines.
Meanwhile, Ibis reclaims his magic wand, and upon being reminded that it's Christmas, Ibis magically restores the decimated town and conjures a tree and gifts for the locals to give them some hope. One of Half-Man's spies has a crisis of conscience and shows Ibis to where a crystal ball he used to communicate with the villain is hidden. Ibis takes advantage of the magic connecting that ball and one used by Half-Man to teleport himself into Half-Man's headquarters. It so happens that "The Warlord" himself is there to do an inspection on the local troops' work, and Half-Man prostrates himself before his leader, wishing he still had his strength to lend their cause, incurring only mockery from Der Fuhrer. Ibis bursts into the room just after "The Warlord" is gone, but he's heard Half-Man's words and realizes he only does what he does out of a feeling of desperation and uselessness. Magically he makes Half-Man whole again. Having exorcised the black magic at work by making a good man of the former villain, Ibis conjures Taia to his side and they fly back to the United States.
