Synopsis for Ibis the Invincible: "The Terrible Dark One"
Ibis watches a newsreel of whales gathering in formation to attack British warships, and from the trident-like shape they assume, realizes the ruler of a dark underwater kingdom must be behind this. He goes to confront them, despite knowing the power of his good magic will weaken in such a deep, dark place. Meanwhile, the skeletal "Dark One" who Ibis is going forth to confront appears to Hitler, saying he's willing to join forces because he recognizes true evil in Der Fuhrer's soul. Hearing that Ibis is converging on his palace, the Dark One gathers his forces to meet the wizard.
The Dark One sends the undead Blackbeard the Pirate to impersonate Ibis and capture Taia, just as the real Ibis manages to breach his enemy's stronghold with a temporary assist from a magically-summoned Captain Marvel. Ibis then uses his wand to create an army of shadow-clones of himself to fight every one of the Dark One's minions man-to-man and rescue Taia. Ibis then beats the Dark One into submission with his fists, and imprisons him at the bottom of the sea where he'll be unable to lend any more aid to the Axis powers.
