Synopsis for "Eaglebeak Spruder"
A young boy named Hickey is walking through town with a bindle over his shoulder. An acquaintance named Buck asks Hickey what he has stored inside the bundle, to which Hickey responds saying that he has an assortment of bottle tops, keys and nails that he plans to deliver to the scrap yard so that "Uncle Sam" can smelt them into war supplies. When Hickey says that the bag is heavy, Buck bullies him. Eaglebeak arrives on the scene and asks Hickey if he's seen someone named Rafferty, to Hickey's confusion. Buck continues to laugh at Hickey, so Eaglebeak craftily convinces Buck to come closer, at which point Hickey turns abruptly, inadvertently whacking Buck in the head. Eaglebeak and Hickey then walk away from a dazed Buck. Hickey asks Eaglebeak who Rafferty is, but Eaglebeak simply replies with, "I dunno."

Synopsis for Ibis the Invincible: "Ibis Becomes a Gangster"
Ibis, out for a walk, sees a thug about to rob the state treasurer, and magically turns the thief's weapon into a harmless prop, then back into a dangerous weapon when the thief decides to use it on himself! The thug's boss, "Gango", isn't pleased to hear about Ibis upsetting another of his schemes, but sees a story in the paper of a scientist who claims he's invented a ray that can remove, or implant, criminal impulses in one's brain. After discovering the secret, Gango lures Ibis into a trap and shines the ray on him, turning the whit wizard into a ruthless criminal mastermind!
They attend the re-election campaign of the politico Gango's underling tried to rob before, and Ibis turns him into a talking monkey nobody could ever take seriously. When Gango orders Ibis to permanently remove Honest John's replacement, Taia takes matters into her own hands and shoots Ibis at before he can carry out the evil deed. Taia misses, hitting the light instead, making Ibis trip and knock himself out in the blackness. She shines the light on him again, not realizing what it is but restoring him to normal. Gango, having caught some of the rays himself, is turned into an honest man, and heads off to Sunday School!
