Synopsis for Ibis the Invincible: "The Unhappy Amoeba"

Professor R.X. Jason explains to his class the life of the humble amoeba, but then goes on to say that if this creature weren't so small as to be invisible to the naked eye, it would be deadlier than a man-eating tiger. He's laughed off by his students, but Jason ominously promises to have proof of his claims.

Jason proves to have been feeding growth hormone to an amoeba, which has gotten so large it escapes its vat as he comes to check on it. Due to its rapid growth, its intelligence has also expanded exponentially to the point it can even speak English and appreciate the beauty of nature. The amoeba then eats through a wall and slips off to go see the world, almost immediately running into Ibis and Taia. His attempts to contain it, but creating walls and attacking bulls fail to leave any impression on the amoeba, which just digests anything it touches and grows ever larger. Taia protests the creature's nature is gentle, but Ibis is convinced its deadly touch makes it too dangerous to live. However, he's stymied by realizing any powerful strike would just make the amoeba split and create even more all-consuming behemoths. In the end he finds an ideal solution by teleporting the amoeba to the middle of the ocean, and Professor Jason promises not to tamper in God's domain anymore.
