Mikan extracted a deathbed promise from his friend to find his killer, but Taylor never pursued this vendetta and instead returned home to America. Now Karl Mikan's ghost has been haunting him.

The witching hour strikes at Jeremy Taylor's house, and as they were expecting Karl Mikan's ghost appears. Ibis magically brings him back to life, and Karl Mikan attacks Taylor to get his revenge. However, Taylor guns him down and gloats that he's killed his enemy twice now. Ibis accuses Taylor of killing his partner to get his shares, that's why he never fulfilled his vow. Taylor seizes the Ibistick and tries to use it to obliterate the wizard, the wand's failsafe makes the command backfire, and erase the evil Jeremy Taylor from the world in a blast of magical lightning instead.
