Synopsis for Ibis the Invincible: "The Flying Dutchman"
A "ghost plane" repeatedly appears and flies close to airliners, causing them to crash. Ibis looks into this and magically boards the plane when it appears to menace a plane he's traveling on. The pilot is a modern man, Peteer van Platt (promotional name "The Flying Dutchman"), who while trying to break a flight record brazenly said he'd sell his soul to the devil for the chance. His brash offer was heard by Krisis, "the Egyptian devil-god of the sky", who beat him at draw straws, and since getting his wish to break the record Platt's been forced by Krisis to buzz planes and make them crash. Ibis confronts Krisis, and after threatening to chop off his wings with giant Ibistick-conjured scissors, gets the demon to break Platt's contract and allow him to land without causing any further harm.
