Synopsis for Ibis the Invincible: "The Man with Nine Lives"

A man named Belgor comes to Ibis for help, claiming he's being stalked by members of an evil cat-worshiping cult. A swarm of cats break into Ibis' apartment then that he disposes of by summoning Cerebrus, the ultimate dog. Belgor was killed in the attack, and the cats that were killed as well change into humans in their death throes, confirming his strange story. Later Ibis is almost hit by a truck saving a kitten in the street, but given his recent experience, thinks it was really a trap laid for him. This proves to be true, as he follows the cat to a garbage dump where it uses a cat statue to turn into a human, revealing itself as the high priest of the cat cult. They struggle and the priest is stabbed by his own knife. Only to get back up and force Ibis to knife him again. Even this didn't really kill him, as the god of the cat cult gives its priest nine lives. The high priest promises to use the rest of them to bring the head of Ibis to the cat idol.
