Synopsis for "Salvage Operation"

While out sailing, Nautika tries to convince her husband Sunburst to take Backlash’s place as training director. He refuses, believing he is unfit due to having been crippled in battle. Suddenly, two armored attackers drop onto the boat from an overflying plane and announce their intent to kill Sunburst. Nautika tries to fight them off, but they kick her overboard. Enraged, Sunburst blasts them with his powers and jumps into the water to rescue his wife. Once he brings her back aboard, their assailants reveal themselves as Pagan and Undertow. Nautika explains she staged the attack to force Sunburst to realize he is still competent. In response, he agrees to accept the job.

Synopsis for "Head Problems"

Strafe goes to a bar and angsts over his experiences as a superhero, specifically being mind-controlled by his father and his brother’s apparent death. He tries to start a conversation with an attractive woman, driving her boyfriend to pick a fight. Malcolm initially fights with just his fists, but he soon loses his temper and blasts the man with his powers. Embracing his power, he leaves convinced that he needs no one but himself.

Synopsis for "Fire Flight"

Aboard Skywatch, Flashpoint and Synergy watch Fahrenheit train with Cannon. Flashpoint is surprised when Synergy reveals that, despite her powers, Fahrenheit hates fire. Years ago, she was at home with her sister in Chicago when her father accidentally started a fire by dropping a cigar. Her father and sister were both killed, but Lauren survived thanks to an energy shield that formed around her. Synergy saw her story in the news and recruited her, later determining that she is a seedling. Synergy says that Stormwatch is Lauren's family now.
