- Why, Providence? A fair question. I suppose it seems petty, to toy with inferior minds when I'm on the cusp of godhood. And now, being able to do it without the subject even knowing...it's hardly sporting, is it? I might as well be honest. I do it because it's fun.

Wildcats: World's End #13 is an issue of the series WildCats: World's End (Volume 1) with a cover date of September, 2009.
Synopsis for "Returns"
The Wildcats arrive at the Nevada Forest and make arrangements with the new mayor of the community to house some of the refugees rescued from the Halo Building. The community is only able to take a portion of the refugees and the Wildcats set off to find a place for the remaining refugees.
Savant suggests taking the refugees to Hawaii now that Majestic is gone, and as well wanting to know for sure on whether Nemesis survived her battle with Majestic or not. But the others think Hawaii would be too dangerous for them, knowing that the Hawaiians will not be happy with the Wildcats for ridding Majestic, who was their protector. Grifter knows a faster solution for finding refuge for the refugees, in which he takes his team to meet with the newly reformed Team 7, which is comprised of John Lynch, Marc Slayton, Deathblow, Dane, and Christie Blaze.
Jodi has a tearful reunion with her father. Lynch offers to put the remaining refugees in I.O. safe houses in exchange for the Wildcats' help: to fight against their former member, Tao. After settling the refugees, Lynch updates the Wildcats on the current situation. Tao has captured the new Void and Providence to take their powers in order to become a god and remake reality in his image. Furthermore, Tao is currently searching for Max Faraday, who once demonstrated the power of the Creation Equation to remake the universe. But Lynch wants to not only stop Tao from capturing Faraday, he also want Faraday to use his powers to fix their world by undoing Armageddon. Lynch and Tao has yet to locate Faraday. With time running out, Lynch realized that Team 7 and the Wildcats must immediately strike Tao, who is growing more powerful from draining Void and Providence's powers.
Lynch also reveals to the Wildcats that they cannot gain more help from Stormwatch and other powerful allies, as Tao had compromised the minds of those he deemed as a threat to him, which includes Stormwatch's Weatherman Jackson King and Majestic; Lynch only desperately trusted the Wildcats because Tao sees them as "insignificant". Savant is left shocked and angered to know that Tao is directly responsible for changing Majestic's personality and therefore causing the Wildcats to possibly kill her father. After hearing this, the Wildcats agree to join Team 7 and stop Tao for good.
The Wildcats and Team 7 launch a surprise attack on Tao's base of operations in Salt Lake City. They fight their way through Tao's superhuman agents and underlings. Savant is the first to confront Tao, but the former Wildcat simply takes away her weapon and earplugs with his god-like powers, allowing him to manipulate her mind into submission. Fortunately, the Wildcats and Team 7 finally enter the fray, allowing Savant to break free from Tao's trance. However, Tao's power proves too great for them. While Tao focused his attention on Team 7, Spartan approaches Void and convinces her to give her powers to him much like the previous Void did before. In a blinding flash of light, Spartan has become Jack Marlowe.

Notes
- The mayor of the Nevada Forest mentions fruit trees and fallen trees being mysteriously provided to the community. This is all due to Tumbleweed, who was inspired by Voodoo to help the community in Wildcats: World's End #4.
- Jodi's apology to her father over "stealing [his] access code" is a reference to the events in Wildstorm: Revelations #4.
- John Lynch and Savant recalls Tao's recruitment to the Wildcats that was depicted in WildC.A.T.s #21 and how he manipulated Grifter to shoot Lynch in the head depicted in Point Blank.
