This volume of Wildcats was intended to be a new ongoing run by writer Grant Morrison with Jim Lee on art. Unfortunately, Morrison had recently begun working on Batman, and following increasing pressure from DC Editorial staff to focus his attention on mainstream DC books, he ultimately gave up future plans for this volume of Wildcats. While two more issues were solicited, only one issue was released, reducing the volume to - essentially - a one-shot. .
