Wildstorm: Revelations #3 is an issue of the series Wildstorm: Revelations (Volume 1) with a cover date of April, 2008.

Synopsis for "Blast From The Past"

After receiving a traffic ticket from Deputy Presley Duray for speeding at ninety miles per hour, Nemesis, Backlash and Savant arrives in Tranquility where see the Astral Man and meeting some of the town's locals (Sweet Sally and Ajita). The girls take a list of names they obtained from Majestic of superheroes and supervillains that seem to have disappeared after World War II. Since many of the residents of Tranquility are from that era, they decide to find out who they can question. The three then decides to get "something to eat" at the Chick N' Go.

Meanwhile, Kevin Trueblood receives a call from his longtime friend Majestic about the girls, in which he promise to provide protection and safe passage to them should anything happens.

At the Chick N' Go, Savant sarcastically asks how they should find any answers from the retired Maxi-Heroes. Emoticon notices Nemesis and flirts with her. However, she is not very amused by him and makes a "sad face" on Emoticon's mask with ketchup. Pink Bunny prevents any further conflict in the diner and provides a towel for Emoticon to wipe his face and tells him to leave or be arrested by Tommy Lindo. Suzy Fury then asks the girls of their purpose in Tranquility. Savant then explains to her that they are searching for information from someone who knows about a "lost generation" superheroes and supervillains towards the end of World War Two who did not live out their golden years in Tranquility. As she serves Bad Dog his coffee, Suzy tells the three that the late Mr. Articulate may know before she could tell them of his murder after they immediately leave. Concerned, Suzy plans on calling the sheriff.

Nemesis, Backlash and Savant break into Mr. Articulate's house. Savant scans and reads Articulate's library of journals and memoirs, and finds a few references of the lost heroes and villains concerning about "Operation: Paladins". Suddenly, Tommy Lindo arrives at Articulate's residence and comes into conflict with Nemesis. Fortunately their conflict is cut short with the peaceful intervention of Maximum Man.

The girls are invited to Maximum Man's house and they are informed by Kevin that Majestic asked him to watch them. After Maximum Man transforms back into Kevin Trueblood, the girls explain their mission and Savant gives Kevin the list of missing metahumans. Kevin recognizes the names from the list and tells the girls of his time when there were hundreds of superheroes and villains during and prior to the Second World War.

Maximum Man and along with Majestic and the High were one of the most prominent heroes referred to simply as "The Big Three". While they were well known, there were many others who fought for "justice, democracy, and mom's apple pie." During the early days most uphold their secret identities and were considered by the general public as "urban folktales".

At this point Savant puts Kevin's story on hold and questions Nemesis, being an immortal, of never knowing of these lost heroes even during the Second World War. But, Nemesis insistently states that she was "occupied" while off-planet during that time.

Resuming with Kevin's story; despite the general public's disbelief of the hundreds of 'unknown' superhumans the American government believe their existence and gladly have them enlisted in the Allies' war effort. Those that did not volunteer were conscripted, including the supervillains who were deemed as the "Last Resorts". When Nazi Germany was defeated in the war, the Allied metahumans then shifted their attention on Imperial Japan. Kevin explains that from what he and some of the other retired Maxis had heard, the "lost generation" superhumans were handpicked by their government to quickly end the war in the Pacific; they were either sent to deliver the American terms of surrender personally to the Japanese, or attempt to spirit out some important Japanese scientists from Hiroshima before it was destroyed in nuclear fire. But in the end, the superhumans suddenly disappeared when Little Boy was detonated. After the end of the war, many of the other heroes revealed their identities or went further underground to protect their loved ones or themselves. Or like the Maxis, took their permanent retirement. With these Lost Generation heroes and villains gone, the government went to great efforts in concealing their existence much like the High.

After Kevin finishes telling his story, Nemesis concludes that the timing of the "lost generation" sent to Hiroshima fits the kind of "Maxi-themed" conspiracy that the future-Backlash hinted at. So she and Savant decide that "spook" agencies such as I/O and Department PSI may have more information about the forgotten superhumans. Backlash, however, refused to be involved with the agencies because of "him", in which she hasn't spoken to him in a long time.

Moments later, outside of Tranquility, Backlash makes a payphone call to her father, Marc Slayton.
