Personal History
After joining in the Spanish-American war as a teenager and rising to the rank of Captain in World War I, "Captain Billy" Fawcett published Captain Billy's Whiz Bang in 1919. It was a magazine with jokes, gags and comic strips that proved highly popular. His company continued to grow, and in the late 30s, Fawcett decided to join the craze of superhero comics. Fawcett died before the first comic, Whiz Comics #2, hit the stands, but his sons continued the company.
