William Clark was the father of Martha Kent.
History
A high powered lawyer. William Clark had expected his daughter to follow in his footsteps and take over his practice. Much to William's disappointment, Martha fell for a farmer from Smallville. Feeling she deserved better, William told so to Jonathan, who responded by punching him. As a result, William became largely uninvolved with his daughter's life and family.
In 2002, William traveled to Smallville, to give the Kents financial help with their farm. William's adoptive grandson, Clark, tried to get him and Jonathan to reconcile, but failed.
