Johnny was a member of Doc Savage's Fabulous Five.
History
William Littlejohn served in a war whose last battle was celebrated in three languages. However, a woman at the celebration kissed him. She though she owed him his life, and he ran, unable to square the noble ideals of those around him with bloody business he had been involved in.
He travelled across the world, in tramp steamers and cargo aircraft, and found no answers for himself. However, he made several discoveries about the world - lost civilizations, dead men, and men who wished the world to think them dead. He wound up as part of a scientific endeavour in South America, but something about the scenario did not ring true, so he tried to run again. In the process he had one eyed poked out by a mechanical man, and had to be rescued by a local legend known only as "Rima, the Jungle Girl".
