- That you are a thinker is not a curse but a cure. We exist each of us not alone. Your voice, the one that speaks to you, ensures your participation in society, your potential to better the world. You are embodying the passion and preservation of the Citizen. That is your burden and your legacy. And you should be proud of both.

Rorschach (real name William "Wil" Myerson) was a violent vigilante and conspiracy theorist who worked with the Kid in his old age. A former comic book artist and writer, he and the Kid attempted to assassinate presidential candidate Gavin Turley in 2020.
History
Wil Myerson was a comic book artist from New York City and gained fame in the 1960s for creating the comic "Pontius Pirate", which went on to become a major franchise. Myerson lived in a Lewis Tower apartment and was a bumbling as well as shy individual. He once dated his neighbor Alma Adler who found her boring and awkward. As he asked whether he could kiss her while going back, she answered no and he promptly understood that she wasn't interested in him. Though she kept a friendly relation with him, he became more introverted after the incident.[1][2]
Alma soon married a man named Carl Thompson, who would often tease Wil about his awkward date with his wife in jest. Myerson however talked little and eventually retired as an artist. After 1974, he rarely went outside his room, though he continued to make comics for himself which included fascist propaganda favoring left-wing politics. He continued living in New York along with Alma (whom he was still secretly obsessed with) and Carl after the squid attack orchestrated by Adrian Veidt. Some people who were aware of his work would come to see him and he would mostly dismiss them politely, though at times he would get annoyed.[1][2]
Wil started writing threatening propaganda against the conservative politician Gavin Turley after learning about his presidential candidature and even in his 80s was a healthy man. Over the years, he had become frustrated at Carl endlessly poking fun about his past date with Alma, even though it was meant to be a friendly ribbing. After he snapped at him, the two got into a brief scuffle and Carl went after him to beat him up. The building's manager went to check on Myerson and found him lying bloodied on the floor in his room. He however told him to leave him be, rejecting a suggestion of going to the hospital.[1][2]
A 19-year old woman named Laura Cummings soon came up to Myerson, while he was creating a comic called "The Citizen". He was transformed over time after meeting her and started impersonating Rorschach, while becoming more radicalized. He also bought a fake mask which looked like that of the vigilante. Soon along with his new partner Laura, he attacked Carl while in disguise as Rorschach, and the man died of a heart attack. Wil however spared Alma, though she decided to move out of her flat. Sometime later, Laura and Wil attempted to target Turley during his campaign rally, however a mysterious caller alerted the security about the duo.[1][2]
Myerson successfully took down several members of Turley's security when they came after him, however he was soon forced to hurry back to Laura after hearing the United States Secret Service blast a nearby wall. The two would-be assassins were soon shot dead, though the Federal Bureau of Investigation faced problem in identifying Myerson initially due to him not having any driver's licence and his face being damaged due to bullets. After identifying who he was however, they found that his fingerprints mysteriously matched with that of the real Rorschach.[1]
