- Wintergreen was created by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez, first appearing in New Teen Titans #2. However, in the Prime Earth continuity, Wintergreen first appeared as part of the New 52 DC Universe in Deathstroke (Volume 2) #0 by Rob Liefeld.
- After Flashpoint, Wintergreen was reimagined as being a Black man and associate of Slade's who had died in the line of duty. However, this was massively retconned with the DC Rebirth initiative in 2016, with Wintergreen appearing in Deathstroke: Rebirth #1 by Christopher Priest and Carlo Pagulayan as a living white man.
