Powers
- Magic: William possesses extensive mystical knowledge of the Speed Force. He also knows a ritual that allows him to gain access to the Speed Force.[1]
- Speed Force Conduit: After completing a magical ritual, William gained connection to the Speed Force.[1]
- Superhuman Speed[1]
- Superhuman Agility: William's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to superhuman levels. This allows him to easily maneuver while moving at superhuman speed.[1]
- Superhuman Reflexes: William possesses reflexes far greater than a normal human being. His great reflexes have allowed him to perform feats such as easily reacting to attacks from other speedsters.[1]
- Superhuman Stamina: William's body can handle the stress of moving at superhuman speeds for long periods of time without out getting tired or weak.[1]
- Speed Force Aura: As explained by Barry Allen, a speedster's body is surrounded by a "friction cushion", which provides light protection from the nastier elements of their speed, including friction, airborne particulate matter, kinetic impacts, G-Force and the like.[2]
- Enhanced Mental Process: By tapping into the Speed Force with his brain, William can eliminate the natural bottle-necking of information that occurs due to the limits of human physiology.[1]
- Speed Mind: William's enhanced mind grants him a form of precognition, stating he could tell what someone was going to do before they did it.[1]
- Electrokinesis: As a conduit of the Speed Force, William's body generates large amounts of electrical Speed Force energy.[1]
- Increased Perceptions: Speed Force conduits traveling at the speed of sound may miss important events as they run by. The Speed Force grants William enhanced senses that allow him to see, hear, smell, touch and/or taste at an increased speed and understand it as it is processed.[1]

- While Selkirk's book in The Flash #38 reveals that Selkirk's first name is William, The Flash #44 states that his first name is Alexander.
- He appears to be inspired by the Scottish Mariner Alexander Selkirk, a buccaneer who got stranded on a desert island. Alexander Selkirk was the real life inspiration for Robinson Crusoe
