Witch is a name used by several characters from the DC Universe. The first Witch was a jewel-thief and a recurring opponent of the debonair crimefighter, the King in an early 1940s. The second Witch is Mr. Wright, a male enemy of Batman who murdered Erik Dorne to earn all the money from Dorne's books, so he disguised himself as a Witch to avoid suspicion.
The third Witch is Samantha Voz, an enemy of Batman and according to herself, she was falsely accused of witchcraft in Salem, receiving a pentagram brand on her forehead and was burned at the stake, only to be resurrected with superhuman strength and claws. She vowed revenge against those who killed her, which resulted in her being locked up in Arkham Asylum.
Several characters also use names that incorporate the word Witch, like; Black Witch, Old Witch, Witch Queen, Prairie Witch, Red Witch, Weather Witch, the Black Forest Witch, the White Witch, and Salem the With Girl.
The first Witch was created by Gardner Fox and Harry Lampert, first appearing in Flash Comics #5 (1940). Mr. Wright was created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane, first appearing in World's Best Comics #1. (1941). Samantha Voz was created by Alan Grant and Dave Taylor, first appearing in Batman: Arkham Asylum - Tales of Madness #1 (1998).
