Wolfgang Schmidt was the violent, racist father of Christopher Smith. His ideals poisoned his son's mind, causing him to grow into the sociopathic, extremist vigilante Peacemaker, dedicated to peace regardless of whatever horrible things he had to do.
Years later, James Gunn reinvented Wolfgang Schmidt in the DC Extended Universe as August "Auggie" Smith, a supremacist supervillain known as White Dragon, which is also the leader of the terrorist group Aryan Empire. This version of the character was later adapted in the comics main continuity.
Wolfgang Schmidt was created by Paul Kupperberg and Tod Smith, and first appeared in Peacemaker (Volume 2) #1 (1988).
