Wolfgang Schmidt was a commander of a concentration camp in Poland in World War II.

Origins

As an officer in the Nazi's elite SS corps, Schmidt served as commandant of the Schlasa concentration camp in Poland from March 1944, until the camp's liberation by the Soviets in May 1945. Schmidt fled before the Russian advance, but records left behind show over 50,000 of Schlasa's inmates had been sent to their deaths at Schmidt's orders. When Germany lost the war he later met a children's book author, Elizabeth Lewis an American woman. Out of their marriage came a single child Christopher whom they raised in Austria until 1955, with the unveiling of documents seized by the Soviet Union from Germany at the end of World War II. Within days of the Russians'unveiling of his Nazi past, and with the knowledge that his arrest was imminent, Schmidt committed suicide in the bedroom of his country estate on Christopher's fifth birthday.

Just a Figment of Your Imagination

Christopher never told anyone how he witnessed his father's suicide, but the incident scarred Christopher deeply for life. To Christopher his father appeared in his dream clad in a jet black SS uniform. pushing him to work harder to be worthy of the Nazi legacy. Christopher never revealed his father voice to anyone. It seems Christopher had help in suppressing his father's voice lately or it was suppressed by the Reach programming that was imprinted in his mind. Whatever the reason Wolfgang hasn't appeared to haunt Christopher for a long time causing him to appear more sane and collected. But a son could never forget his father...
