Synopsis for "Commitment to Chaos"
This story is reprinted from Wonder Woman Giant (Volume 2) #1.
Wonder Woman is investigating whether the real estate mogul is behind the spate of recent building collapses, since he's bought all of them for a very low price. As she reaches the hotel he's currently staying in, she is confronted by armed guards who tell her to get lost. When she refuses, they point a gun at her which eventually leads to her tossing them away.
Demanding to know his location, Diana is directed to the penthouse by the staff. Simon however spots her coming through the elevator camera and admits being behind the series of building collapses. He adds that he has two more buildings to purchase, one of which is in Coney Island and owned by a psycho he's contracted assassins to eliminate and another is the same hotel they are in.
Before leaving, Simon makes the elevator fall but Diana stabs its side with her sword to bring it to a halt. As the elevator doors open, she discovers that the place is empty and rigged with explosives. Though she survives the blast, the toxins in the building knock her unconscious. After recovering, she reaches Coney Island and after endlessly hearing hear talk, is invited by her to grab a bite.
At a diner, Diana informs Harley that Simon has hired hitmen to kill her in order to grab her building. She later saves Harley's life twice from an assassin and takes her for interrogation at Harley's residence. As Harley threatens to catapult her, the assassin reveals that three low-grade supervillains have been hired to take Harley out if she fails. Harley catpaults her anway but Diana saves her before trying to turn her in.
At the police station, Red Ball attacks them with monsters but Harley gets rid of them by throwing doughnuts on the street, leading to them being run over by a truck. Red Ball then surrenders after realizing that Wonder Woman is accompanying her and tells them where the other two assassins, Zlaya and Sniper-D, are. Diana apprehends them and leaves them at a prison.
Next morning at the JFK International Airport, Simon's pilot alerts him about Wonder Woman and Harley standing on the runway, in turn he is ordered to fly away. Harley however knocks the plane out with a RPG despite Diana's opposition. Diana rescues those on board before turning them in and criticzes Harley, stating she's dangerous. As they go back to the airport terminal, Diana has to again suffer her talk endlessly.
