Grimaldi refuses to tell the FBI, who know he gave money to an assassin, whether the hitman has arrived in the city to eliminate the dissident Curt Andresson before his testimony is delivered. Diana stating time is short, uses her lasso of truth to make him reveal that he paid Deadshot and his mark who is actually president Armand Toulain.
As Deadshot prepares to carry out the hit, he spots Wonder Woman coming towards him and jumps out of the way before she can him. Making her fall through the building by creating a hole with grenades, he jumps into the meeting of dignitaries and fires at Toulain. Diana however deflects the bullets and Toulain orders his guards to kill the assassin.
Diana deflects the guards' bullets and knocks them out after they refuse to holster their guns, before finding that Deadshot is about to shoot Andresson. Diana saves the man from Deadshot's bullets and entangles him in it, learning that he had fooled Grimaldi with a lie to hide his true target who was Andresson all along, since he knew she would be there.
Stating he'll go to Belle Reeve but will be soon free, Deadshot adds that they're going to fight again. Diana states he is correct, but he's going to keep wondering whether she'll come to crush him after he's free.

Synopsis for "Couldn't Live"
This story is reprinted from Wonder Woman Giant (Volume 2) #3.
Captain Steve Trevor goes after the hideout of a terrorist group called P.A.N.D.O.R.A. after learning about their location in an underground complex abandoned by the government some years ago, wanting to help Wonder Woman in whatever way he can. After being beaten up, he remembers how Batman told him at the Justice League Watchtower that he wouldn't survive long if he keeps trying to help Diana, but has delivered some equipment to his house he can use in a fight.
He throws a flashbang grenade at the terrorists surrounding him, before reaching their monitor room where he learns about Diana entering the facility. After taking care of the guards, he tries to learn her location but is alerted by an evacuation alarm. Following the trail of destruction to find Diana, he bangs across a wall, worried she might be harmed in a fight with the terrorists. The wall collapses in an explosion though he survives and finds her having subdued them.
As he realizes he needlessly worried about her, Diana appreciates her gesture of risking his own life to protect hers just like she would for him. One of the robots of P.A.N.D.O.R.A. who is still active tries targeting her, but is quickly destroyed when she swings a giant piece of metal at it, before she tells Steve she couldn't live without him too.
