Wonder Woman: Agent of Peace (Volume 1 (Digital)) with a cover date of July, 2020.
Synopsis for "Obsession Aggression"
Wonder Woman fights robot skeletons whose frame has been partially replaced with metallic components and recounts what led her to this situation. A few years ago, Wonder Woman was briefed by the United Nations about an industrial facility duping toxic waste which has been poisoning the water supply. The local governments refuse to do anything and don't allow the UN to examine it. The owners of the facility have all been declared wanted, but can't be touched since they're in international waters, so they ask her to bring them in.
Meanwhile on a ship, Maurice tells his employees that they have to work for only one week before they can shut it. His wife Ruth tells him to go to sleep since it's late and states she doesn't like it here, since they have to stay with his four business partners and are kept under heavy guard. Maurice assures her that they'll be able to go back home soon and live a luxurious life now that they have money. As Ruth asks where he's getting the money from, their ship gets hit by something.
The ship's occupants find that it's being towed to Miami by Wonder Woman and Maurice finds himself instantly smitten by her. The guards try to attack her, but her Bracelets of submission deflect their bullets and injure them. Diana calls for the ship's doctor and tells him to attend to them as she takes them to Miami. When the ship docks, the occupants are arrested by the Miami police. Some time before the present, Diana was told about a man named Maurice Cassel leaving her a check of 500 million dollars and his mansion in Upstate New York.
Diana gave the check she was given to a charity and went to investigate the mansion that was passed on to her. As she opens the mansion's door, she falls through the floor and into a fire pit. After punching the wall, she gets confronted by the robot skeletons and is attacked by rockets, bringing us back to the present moment. Diana gets grabbed by them but she soon destroys one with her Lasso of Truth. The skeletons then begin a self-destruct sequence.
As she escapes the mansion, she finds herself confronted by robot wolves, but makes them fall off a cliff after having them chase her while she rides one of them. After the robots' destruction, she tells the firefighters who arrive at the scene to hang back while she checks the building for any further traps. A week later, she talks to Ruth, the one who was behind the attacks on her and is wife of the same Maurice she had imprisoned years earlier, at an art gallery and asks if they're willing to make a trade for a painting. When she gets interested, she offers her the mansion she has been given in Nyack.
Ruth realizes that the supposed buyer is Wonder Woman and is threatened to accompany her to a restaurant if she doesn't want to get arrested. Diana states she found out about her through the same company she used to build the traps and robots. She also reveals she knows her husband was the one to bequeath his property to her, asking why he did it and why she attacked her. Ruth states that since Maurice saw Wonder Woman, he became obsessed with her and ignored his family, even making her the heir to his fortune. One day, he suffered a stroke and eventually died.
Diana apologizes to Ruth for what happened to her and sympathizes, stating she decided to direct her anger at her rather than bring his husband to his senses, since it was easier. She assures Ruth she won't have her arrested and will sell Maurice's mansion to her, which she can use it to get professional help for her emotional issues and have a better life with her family. Her generosity moves Ruth and she thanks her.
