- You! Diana...you...continue to make me proud. Perhaps it is time we all did the same...for each other.
Wonder Woman #758 is an issue of the series Wonder Woman (Volume 1) with a cover date of September, 2020. It was published on July 7, 2020.
Synopsis for "Ghosts Of The Past"
Heaven's Gate, outside the Silver City
Diana and Paula are at the gates of Heaven, brought there by the Phantom Stranger who wants to give Paula to the judgment of the Presence, a way to redeem a life and a dynasty full of sins. But Diana refuses to let her be judged, as she thinks Paula should follow her path to redemption of her own free will, and fights the Stranger to give her this opportunity. After Diana manages to wrap the Stranger in her Lasso, the servant of the Presence admits that he left the von Gunthers alone, making them accumulate sin after sin, just to see if they could match his level of betrayal: he is after all the Iscariot, the one who betrayed his Messiah and friend.
If he was able to take a soul that committed a sin strong enough, maybe his debt with the Presence was going to be solved and he would have obtained forgiveness. As the Phantom gets recalled by the Presence, Diana has the chance to talk to him, praying him to listen to her words: maybe punishment is not always the best road to redeem a soul, as she had finally learned. You cannot always bend people to your will or your way of life. As the Presence fades, Paula gets turned back from her petrified form, with Diana explaining her what's happened, and then the two get transported again to Themyscira.
Back to Paradise Island
As the two warriors are back, Hippolyta is ready to deliver death to Warmaster, but Diana makes her change her mind: Paula admits her crimes and tells Diana she will accept redemption in any form in Themyscira, with Diana assuring her there won't be no prisoner in Paradise, not anymore. Then, the Amazons convince Hippolyta in establishing the Amazon Embassy, headquarters for all Amazons to help bring peace to the world of men. In the form of a floating island that can navigate through the seas, the Embassy will be a key to a new era of peace, an era that the Dark Fates have forecasted, and an era they want to stop. But as a returning Jason refuses to help them, as he will never turn his sword against his sister again, the Fates must find another weapon to destroy Wonder Woman's utopia.
