Wonder Woman #780 is an issue of the series Wonder Woman (Volume 1) with a cover date of December, 2021. It was published on October 12, 2021.
Synopsis for "Where The Heart Is"
The story opens with Diana coming through a portal into the Hall of Justice of Earth 0 immediately following the events of Wonder Woman #779 and just before Justice League #68. Martian Manhunter, Superman, Batman and Black Canary, alongside a myriad of others celebrate Diana's miraculous return after being gone for nearly a year.[1][2] Diana converses with the entire Justice League of her adventures before being interrupted by Doctor Fate about an urgent matter regarding the Justice League Dark and a current mission requiring Diana's assistance. Doctor Fate is in turn interrupted by Hippolyta, who embraces her daughter Diana's return and strongly recommends her to rest before embarking on any mission. Diana reluctantly agrees, admitting to her own exhaustion, and decides to head for Themyscira.
Upon flying over the ocean for home, Diana encounters Turkish Refugees sinking and drowning upon a large capsizing boat. Diana immediately plunges into the water and lifts the entire boat from the sea and brings it to a nearby Turkish port, where all passengers disembark safely. A nearby longshoreman video records the event on his phone and uploads the event to social media. Shortly after, Wonder Woman's triumphant return is broadcast on radio and news networks throughout the world. Steve Trevor, Wonder Girl, Donna Troy, Yara Flor, Dr. Psycho, and Artemis are amongst those who receive the news.
Upon her return to Themyscira, Diana is welcomed by Queen Nubia, the temporary replacement for Queen Hippolyta, (who has taken up a temporary position within the Justice League in Diana's absence).[3] Nubia explains tensions have been high in regard to the established order of the island, preluding the story Nubia and the Amazons #1. Diana's return is celebrated and feasted to throughout the island.
Nubia agrees with Hippolyta that Diana should take some time to rest before returning to hero work on Earth, and presents her with her lost golden lasso of truth kept in a strongbox in her mother's bedroom. Diana is left alone and shown looking into a nearby pond, where an evil version of herself looks back at her. Diana rests near a cliffside overlooking the ocean before flying into the sunset horizon.
