Synopsis for "From Day Into Night"
While Mediplex officials take charge of the Creeper, Wonder Woman flies Steve to Themyscira for intensive care. As the first mortal man on the island, Steve experiences not just Amazon remedies, but accolades from Queen Hippolyta and Philippus, tepid approval from Hellene and her fellow isolationists, and an extensive tour that ends with the Amazons' greatest gift - a visit to his mother's memorial in the Temple of Hades.
In Boston, Lucy Spears wins over Vanessa by helping with a prank on Barry Locatelli, while Hermes makes an even grander gesture to Julia by magically restoring the Kapatelises' old townhouse. Concurrently, mercenaries in California attack an Army convoy and free the two Khunds captured on Fiji - all on orders from Barbara Minerva, who offers the aliens revenge on Wonder Woman in exchange for total obedience.
Hating all humans on principle but Wonder Woman especially, the Khunds agree, and are ordered to lay an ambush on Martha's Vineyard - Wonder Woman's preferred channel into Man's World. After dark, they spot Wonder Woman returning from Themyscira and immediately attack. Though the Amazon Princess quickly rallies, she is unable to stop the Khunds from escaping with her lasso; shortly after, the Cheetah kills her new "allies", and claims the lasso as her own.
