Synopsis for "The Truth, Part One"
Nightsong Hospital, London
A patient by the name of Diana Prince is being attended to, as she believes to be the heroine the world knows as Wonder Woman. In truth, she is the woman she affirms to be, but she is in crisis: her memory, her mind shattered, with all her certainties, the few she had left, disappearing in front of herself. She knows nothing of her past or present, and in her mind she has no future. Getting accompanied to the garden, Diana has a long talk with an illusion, a snake coming out of her old snakebite, telling her she must face the fact that some truths she believed set in stone were lies. She questions her identity and the identity of many she fought against and with, but the snake tells her she must overcome.
Themyscira
Queen Hippolyta waits her general, Philippus, welcoming a new morning with her, the constant thought of her daughter in her mind. She knows she will never see her again, but each day passing since she left is a day when Diana accomplished her mission and fate, and for this, Hippolyta is glad. But the priestess Castalia has dire, black news: an omen, the withered tree, once again appeared on the island. The Amazons must prepare for war.
Empire Industries, Washington D.C.
Doctor Cyber and Marina Maru argue about the mischance of letting Wonder Woman escape, a potential gate to Themyscira disappearing when it was so close. Etta Candy, Steve Trevor and Dr. Barbara Minerva are still untraceable, and they are the only links to the princess of the Amazons. Veronica Cale does not want to call upon the costly help of the Witch, and so decides to try and exploit Barbara Minerva's possible lack of experience in covert situation to find Etta and Steve and, as a consequence, Wonder Woman.
Far Rockaway, New York
A pizza delivery guy knocks at an apartment door, announcing the order: it is a keyword for Steve Trevor, masquerading, to enter the secret site where Barbara Minerva is helping Etta James recover from the wounds she suffered at the hands of Veronica Cale. The Picket is compromised and the group must act in secret: their enemy is called the Godwatch, and Barbara Ann reveals she was one of them some time ago. Telling Steve and Etta they were obsessed with Diana and more with finding Themyscira, she was part of their group in her days as the Cheetah. Steve questions her loyalty, doubting she might still be on their side, with Etta scowling him for that. Maybe hit by guilt, Barbara decides to surrender herself to Cale's private army, Team POISON, letting Steve and Etta escape. The two get out and contact an old friend, who told them to seek him out only if Diana needed it: the Minotaur.
