Synopsis for "The Stick and the Carrot"

Wonder Woman may have lost her powers but her spirit remains unbroken. After escaping an attack from Paradise Lost, Wonder Woman begins her newest mission: finding Amanda Waller's secret base so the world's superheroes can prepare a counterattack. For that, she has joined forces with Robin to interrogate one of the Flashes' most famous enemies, Captain Boomerang, to make him divulge the location.

Wonder Woman and Robin go into conflict for their methods in having Boomerang talk. The Amazon princess believes they can appeal to Boomerang's better nature, but the son of Batman believes villains like the Rogues only understand violence. First, the heroes bring Boomerang to a restaurant, hoping that Boomerang will cooperate if offered food. Boomerang tries to attack Wonder Woman with his namesake weapon, but Wonder Woman easily disarms him and Robin believes he should interrogate Boomerang.

Robin's interrogation form involves tying Boomerang to a rope and dangling him from a cliff, with multiple hungry sharks waiting for him below. He also threatens to cut the rope dangling Boomerang with one of his namesake weapons but the boomerang's weight throws Damian off and he accidentally cuts the rope. Boomerang falls to the sea, but Wonder Woman saves him.

Wonder Woman tries to have Boomerang reconcile with his son Owen, and for a while, father and son do seem to connect, but Owen is unable to overcome the resentment he has felt towards his father for years and what began as a peaceful conversation became a fistfight. Robin ties Boomerang to a rope again and threatens to beat him with a bat, but Wonder Woman says that such violent behavior is unbecoming of a member of Batman's family. Her words have an effect on Robin, who is unable to attack Boomerang, even with Boomerang goading him into it. The young warrior breaks into tears and falls into Wonder Woman's arms. She tells him that not only he is not Batman, he doesn't have to follow on his father's footsteps, either.

Wonder Woman tries yet again to reason with Boomerang, saying that Waller's actions are immoral and that Boomerang has the power to help the world's superheroes take back what they lost. Boomerang, once again, refuses to help and an exhausted Wonder Woman kicks him. The heroes tie Boomerang to a rope again and dangle him above the sewers, but Boomerang is aware that the heroes won't do any serious harm to him. Feeling cocky, he tells the heroes that he will never divulge that Waller is hiding in the island of Gamorra, a location that Robin is all too familiar with, and Wonder Woman admits that it was stupidity, not love or fear, what caused Boomerang to give up Waller's location.

Synopsis for Trinity: "World's Finest", Part 9

The young heroes of Earth face their toughest challenge yet: the Mongul of Infinite Earths has arisen and, with each day, his powers grow. If left unchecked, Mongul will cause untold devastation throughout the universe, which is why Superman tells his friends that they should travel to Mongul's hideout, located in a distant galaxy, to stop him. Batman and Trinity warn Jon that, even with their fastest ship, it will take the heroes of Earth 73 days to reach their destination but Jon says they must undertake this journey to save their world.

Easier said than done, however, as the heroes continuously drive each other crazy over the course of their journey through space. They complain to each other about leaving the toilet seat up after using it, leaving dirty clothes all over the floor and even watching the same movie over and over and over again.

After 73 days of travel, the heroes finally reach Mongul's hideout and defeat him in a relatively short fight. Still, the heroes can't help but express disappointment that they undertook a long journey for such a short fight and, to make matter worse, it would take them 94 days to return home. Knowing that they wouldn't stand spending a lot of time with each other, the heroes decide to not return home just yet. Instead, they want to interrogate Mongul and figure out if he knows something about the next Crisis.
