Synopsis for "Gifted"
Before Wonder Woman's fight with the Sovereign's forces, she had undertaken a new mission: find the perfect gift for Batman, just in time for his birthday. For that, she and Superman had travelled to the Andromeda Mall, the largest shopping complex in the known universe. Despite some initial trouble, Wonder Woman finds a place to park her Invisible Jet and gets told by the parking lot's computer not to lose her ticket, lest she risks having her vehicle seized by the Khund Empire.
She meets up with Superman and tells him about her problems in the parking lot and he replies that he saves himself the trouble just by flying on his own. They consolidate their reunion with a hug and go about enjoying their visit to the mall. Their first stop is at a cafe and Superman attempts to start up a conversation by asking her about the Amazons' problems, but Wonder Woman doesn't want to talk about that and he respects her decision. Their visit to the mall is interrupted by an alien that tries to kill Superman with a piece of Kryptonite, only for Wonder Woman to easily beat him to the ground and throw away the Kryptonite.
Next, they go to the movie theater, only for the movie to be interrupted by Mr. Mxyzptlk, who has returned to the third dimension to annoy Superman yet again. Superman and Wonder Woman, however, are not in the mood to entertain to Mxyzptlk, so they leave the theater, and Mxyzptlk returns to the fifth dimension of his own free will.
The two Super-Friends go to eat ice cream and Superman jokingly suggests they should give Batman a diamond and he would appreciate it since he is not a billionaire anymore. He finally decides to confront the issue head on and asks Wonder Woman about America's sudden hostility against the Amazons. Wonder Woman admits that this experience has not been easy for her and Superman offers his assistance, but she insists that this a problem exclusive to the Amazons and thus, the Amazons must solve it all by themselves. Even so, she thanks Superman for being a good friend.
Their journey takes them to the mall's beauty salon, the only place in the universe with enough firepower to trim Superman's nails. He invites Wonder Woman to have her toes done and she reluctantly agrees. After houres of searching, however, the Super-Friends are unable to find a proper gift for Batman, so Wonder Woman decides to improvise and invites Superman to have a series of photographs with her, while they take turns holding a sign that says "Happy birthday, Batman". Under their current circumstances, that was the best gift they could find for Batman. Their journey finished, the Super-Friends prepare to return home, but not before Wonder Woman asks Superman a favor: to find her missing ticket. Unfortunately, some problems just can't be solved, even by Superman.
The Super-Friends leave their gifts, the photos and a diamond, on the Batmobile's windshield. Batman leaves the diamond on the doorstep for the Wayne Home for Wayward Orphans, but keeps the photos for himself. For Batman, friendship is a beautiful gift.
