Synopsis for Superman and Batman: "Captives of the Space Globes"
Batman and Robin are on their way to appear in a brief film commercial appealing for funds to the Gotham City Orphanage when they are suddenly trapped in strange spheres and fly off into space. When Superman (also appearing in the commercial) arrives he speeds off after Batman and Robin he is warned by a disembodied voice that if he attempts to free the Dynamic Duo before they reach their destination they will die. Superman follows after them to a planet with a strange green dust around the planet. Fearing it might be Kryptonite, Superman scans it with his x-ray vision, and learns that while it's not Kryptonite, it is very close molecularly.
Despite this, the Man of Steel flies down to the planet to try and rescue his friends. Upon his arrival he is welcomed by the the source of the disembodied alien voice, Alba, to the planet Zoron. He invites Superman to follow Batman and Robin into a nearby cave. Appearing before Superman, Alba explains that his advanced civilization became so advanced they left machines to do everything for them and lived in peace for centuries until the war-like Baxians came and invaded their world. With no means of defending themselves they were easily defeated but Alba and a few others managed to escape to seek out other beings in the universe who might be able to help them. Learning of Earth, they captured Batman and Robin in order to lure Superman to their world. With this explained, Superman agrees to help and asks Alba to release his friends. Alba tells the Man of Steel that he isn't sure he can fully trust Superman and continues to hold them hostage until Superman helps rid their world of the Baxians.
When Superman makes an attempt he finds that the green dust prevents him from using his powers. With no other choice, Alba agrees to free Batman and Robin from the spheres they are trapped in so that hey can help Superman. To their surprise, Batman and Robin have super-strength and flying abilities on this planet and they use them to fight off the Baxians and their armies. However, the Baxian's leader, Chorn, discovers the Zorian museums which are full of old war machines of incredible power. Although Batman and Robin destroy most of the machines, Chorn attacks them with a device that fires a ray that weakens them. With defeat around the corner, Batman and Robin are surprised when a meteor suddenly falls from the sky and smashes the device to bits.
With Chorn captured, they see Superman return to the planet in a ship, and he explains that while Batman and Robin were busy fighting the Baxians, he took a ship outside of the planets orbit where he wouldn't be effected by the green dust and used his restored powers to toss a meteor down on Chorn. With the Baxian invasion of Zoron thwarted, Alban and his people thank the three heroes and return them to Earth.
