This means that unless steps are taken, the very fabric of time will sunder... The past will melt into the present... destroying both! If two individuals with the mass of humans were to travel in a path opposite that of the Anachronids, temporal balance would be maintained! There are but two in the cosmos capable of such super-speed-- Yourself and the one known as The Flash!

Synopsis for Superman and the Flash: "Race to Save the Universe!"
Jimmy Olsen and a Roman charioteer become exchanged in time as a result of the activities of Anachronids, faster-than-light robots who have appeared in the Earth-One universe. To counteract the time-warping effect, the Guardians of the Universe enable Flash and Superman to race in the opposite direction, and the two heroes make it a competition against each other. Both save each other from perils along the way, but Jimmy Olsen finds himself condemned to death by a Roman general as a sorcerer, and facing a firing squad of bowmen.

Synopsis for Johnny Quick: "Joanie Swift, Queen of Speed!"
This story is reprinted from Adventure Comics #181.
Student-secretary Joanie Swift is typing a list of time-space equations for physics Professor Winklerod when she stumbles across the Speed Formula. Realizing she has the same powers as Johnny Quick, she creates a similar costume and proposes they form a team. The hero is afraid that she'll be ineffective in the field as a vigilante and possibly hurt so he stages a series of events to convince her that super speed is a burden. She enjoys them all and Quick is despairing that she'll never give up the life of action until she faints at the sight of a mouse. While she's out, he rearranges the formulae in her notes so that she cannot find the Speed Formula again.
