Synopsis for Batman and Robin: "Tweedledum and Tweedledee"
This story is reprinted from Detective Comics #74.
Dumfrey Tweed and his henchmen loot a fur company in Gotham City, where they capture Batman and Robin, when they attempt to intervene, and they race off leaving the Dynamic Duo ensnared in a set of powerful wolf traps.
Batman and Robin escape from the traps, only to be summoned to another part of the city, where Deever Tweed and his cohorts are staging a jewel robbery. But when Batman and Robin attempt to intervene, Deever stuns them with a high powered electrical gadget concealed in his cane and easily flees the scene with his henchman.
Not long afterward, Batman and Robin discover the location of the villains' hideout, only to be taken prisoner once again and left frozen motionless in an elaborate electrical trap. Meanwhile the Tweeds, dressed as Tweedledum and Tweedledee, from Lewis Carroll's Alice In Wonderland, and two of their henchmen, dressed as Mad Hatter and March Hare, race off to a costume party that's being held for the benefit of Allied war effort. There they hope to steal thousands of dollars in war bonds which have been collected as admission fees.
Batman breaks the electrical trap using his Utility Belt and when the dynamic duo is free, they race the criminals to the costume party, and apprehend the villains as they attempt to make off with the war bonds.
