Synopsis for Superman & Batman: "The Vampire of Steel"

When one of Bruce Wayne's oil rigs creates an environmental disaster, Bruce asks his friend Superman to help contain the pollution from the site. Upon arriving at the rig, they meet with Captain Kalamari, who is a notorious protector of the oceans who warns them about a mysterious force underwater and creatures from the "Nega Realm". Superman doesn't heed his advice and descends to the depths of the ocean, where he is attacked by a magical being.

Kalamari and his men take Superman out of the water and leave him to rest. Meanwhile, Bruce changes into Batman and tries to find the mysterious force that attacked Superman, but instead, he meets the Phantom Stranger who tells Batman about creatures called trilligs, which are marine vampires. With help from the Phantom Stranger, Batman discovers that Captain Kalamari is in fact a trillig and he is responsible for attacking Superman, while the creatures of the Nega Realm are a threat to Kalamari and thus he wanted the heroes to eliminate the creatures for him. Using a special sacred staff from the Nega Realm, Phantom Stranger is capable of eliminating Kalamari and his men, leaving Batman and Superman to finally contain the pollution from the oil rig.

Synopsis for Green Arrow & Black Canary: "Will the Costume Make the Hero?"

Clad in the Batman uniform, Green Arrow uses the utility belt's weapons to defeat Hellgrammite's gang. Then he takes John Deleon (who, by now, has guessed that Oliver Queen is really Green Arrow) to the police, with the secret instruction that Deleon be released later so that GA can trail him. However, Green Arrow is detained fighting Hellgrammite's other gangsters, and Deleon is able to grab his money and go to Hellgrammite in hopes of cutting a deal. He comes upon Hellgrammite while the latter is killing two of his men with cocoons, which have also killed the businessmen who came to him in hopes of gaining new youth; the men were simply impersonated by younger crooks in Hellgrammite's pay. When the villain leaps at Deleon, the crooked financier dies of fright. Green Arrow takes down Hellgrammite, having trailed Deleon, while Black Canary breaks free of her cocoon. Black Canary tells GA later that he might be able to recover his fortune if he went to court to get Deleon's records, but Green Arrow tells her he doesn't want to be a millionaire anymore. But the Canary refuses GA's advances, saying that she is her own woman.
