Synopsis for Green Arrow: "One Red Rose for Never!"
Dinah Lance calls in Green Arrow to help after she is hired for large money to deposit a red rose on a gravesite in Star City, but is attacked by thugs during one such delivery. Soon both he and the entire city learn that the rose is being delivered to the gravesite of Annabel Van Wyck, whose widower, the original Elizar Van Wyck, deeded the land to establish Star City with the provision that one rose be delivered to Annabel's grave every Friday, or the land would be forfeit. Now the modern Elizar Van Wyck claims that the contract has been broken, and demands Star City be ceded to him. GA proves that the modern "Elizar" is really black sheep Jarret Van Wyck, who murdered his brother and posed as him in hopes of gaining control of Star City. Dinah Lance saves Green Arrow with her canary cry when Jarret attempts to murder him.

Synopsis for Captain Marvel: "The Plot Against the Human Race"
Mr. Atom and King Kull await orders from Mr. Mind on how best to destroy the Earth (something that Mr. Mind has been keeping secret from the other members who live there.) Mr. Atom similarly agrees that he hates all humans for their “inferiority” to him. King Kull shows off a machine that will reverse the elevation of the whole Earth, making the deepest oceans into the highest mountains and vice-versa! He says he could only do this using the most powerful atomic reactor ever made, which happens to be Dr. Langley's most evil creation, Mr. Atom, who has a small, compact and powerful atomic reactor three times more powerful than any known reactor.
Captain Marvel is meanwhile flying around to confirm what Station WHIZ has reported: the Grand Canyon is shrinking! What's worse, in the Big Apple, streets are flooded entirely and consults with Prof. Edgewise (and Freddy Freeman) to see what's going on, returning to being Billy Batson to arrive at Mrs. Wagner's Boarding House. He soon finds Prof. Edgewise's basement lab is flooding too and Prof. Edgewise throws out some nonsensical items before he hands him a machine to track the source of the massive energy that'd be needed to cause this kind of cataclysmic upheaval. Billy and Freddy call SHAZAM and CAPTAIN MARVEL to become Captain Marvel and Captain Marvel, Jr. and soon track it to a big cave system that's guarded by some kind of forcefield. Hearing the trademark laugh of King Kull, the King of the Lost Beastmen laughs that it literally repels Marvels only, so they just… walk away and return to normal to sneak in… and are immediately knocked out by King Kull with a club. The boys wake up bound and gagged as King Kull knows they're “friends” of the Marvel Family and immediately tell them their entire plan of reversing the Earth's topography. Smashing a small hole in the ground, his topographical reverser makes it turn into a small outcropping, which Billy is able to slip his gag on and call SHAZAM to become Captain Marvel and free Freddy, who calls CAPTAIN MARVEL to become Captain Marvel, Jr. They wreck the doomsday device, only for King Kull and Mr. Atom to teleport away, just like Black Adam and Oggar did last time… Captain Marvel is certain they'll return… but knows he'll be ready for him.
