Synopsis for Superman & Batman: "In the Citadel of the Weapon Master"
At the Fortress of Solitude, Batman and Superman investigate the robots that attacked them and stole various weapons from Superman's sanctuary. While investigating, Superman shows Batman his new machine called "Power Charger", which can restore Superman's powers if he is exposed to Gold Kryptonite or it can also grant a human super-powers for a few hours before killing them.
Finally, the heroes learn that the alien that stole the weapons is rightfully called the Weapon Master and his base of operations is located on a snowy mountain. Batman and Superman go to the place, but the Batplane is no match for the Weapon Master's defenses, forcing Batman to return to the Fortress while Superman confronts the Master alone. The Weapon Master uses the combined weapons he stole from Superman to create a unique and powerful weapon, capable of shooting Green Kryptonite rays, which help him defeat Superman.
Weapon Master then uses his weapons to turn Superman and everyone on Earth into his mindless slaves. The only man who is not affected is Batman, who learns of Superman's fate and decides to subject himself to the Power Charger, which will give him the Super-Strength he needs to save Superman, but will ultimately kill him. In Batman's mind, this is a worth sacrifice.
