Synopsis for Batman: "The Man Who Could Not Die!"

Joe Starr is a low-profile criminal and he is informed by a fortune teller that his fortune is about to change for the better. When Starr reads a newspaper that indicates that he couldn't die for at least a year, he becomes overconfident and takes over the gang of Trigger Smith. Using his new-found fortune, he adopts the identity of Lucky Star, a criminal who defies his own luck because he is unable to die.

Batman and Robin encounter Lucky Star on several occasions and every time they are outsmarted by the lucky criminal. However, during a daring crime, one of the thugs informs him that the newspaper that he read was a gag planned by Trigger Smith to mess up with his head. Losing his confidence, Lucky Star is easily captured by Batman and arrested. Ironically, Joe Starr is sentenced to die on the same date that the newspaper predicted.
