Synopsis for "Year Seven: A Better World"

Batman returns to the cave, worse for wear. Alfred Pennyworth tells Batman he has a visitor. It is Superman. Batman asks if something is wrong. The two argue and Superman grabs Batman and flies out of the cave. Superman takes Batman to Smallville. The two talk about the ethics involved in crime fighting and the weight of the responsibility that comes with it. Superman hears a woman about to give birth and he and Batman rush to the scene and help deliver the baby since there is no doctor around. Then Superman takes Batman back to the Kent farm for flapjacks.

  • This issue is reprinted in Batman & Superman: World's Finest.
  • Superman makes reference that he killed three villains in a different world. These villains were General Zod, Zaora and Quex-Ul, and the different world was the Pocket Universe[1]. In this point of time, Matrix was under the tutelage of the Kent couple, but she is not shown.
  • Batman makes reference that the Joker killed Robin II. It happened in Batman: A Death in the Family.
